Mr. Hinzano is a trained aquaculturist with an MSc in Aquaculture from the University of Gent, Belgium. He has extensive experience in marine fish and crustacean breeding, larviculture, and live feed production, particularly involving algae, rotifers, and Artemia. Prior to joining KMFRI, he served as a Technical Assistant in an Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade project that pioneered breeding technologies for local penaeid shrimp species in Kenya. Through these engagements, he gained substantial expertise in hatchery development and management. His current research focuses on the use of dietary herbs and single cell protein technologies to enhance the quality and robustness of hatchery-produced crustacean larvae. He has contributed to book chapters and peer-reviewed journal publications as a co-author.
