Centralised Analytical Services
KMFRI's central laboratory services hub provides shared access to specialised analytical equipment and expert technical support across the Institute's research divisions. The facility accepts samples from KMFRI scientists, students, collaborating institutions, and registered external clients for a range of environmental and biological analyses.
Analytical Services
Analytical Chemistry
Heavy metal analysis, nutrient quantification (nitrates, phosphates, silicates), pH, alkalinity, and dissolved organic carbon measurements.
Environmental Testing
Marine and freshwater quality assessments including pollutant screening, sediment toxicity testing, and microplastic quantification.
Isotope Studies
Stable isotope analysis (δ¹³C, δ¹âµN) for trophic ecology, provenance studies, and migratory pattern investigations in fish populations.
Molecular Biology
DNA extraction, PCR amplification, gel electrophoresis, and species identification services using molecular barcoding techniques.
