Patrick Wanguche Otuo is an early career socioeconomics Assistant Research Scientist at the Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute (KMFRI), Kisumu Centre. He focuses on applying science, technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship to address societal needs and improve livelihoods in fisheries and aquatic resource-dependent communities. He is actively involved in developing interdisciplinary and demand-driven research proposals in priority areas including sustainable fisheries, environmental management, and community appraisal. His work emphasizes socio-economic analysis and evidence-based solutions to support policy and resource management. Patrick is also a co-founder of the Kenya Lake Debris Volunteer Program, an initiative dedicated to identifying and addressing lake litter challenges through research, community sensitization, and environmental conservation efforts aimed at protecting Kenya's freshwater ecosystems.
