Mr. Hinzano is a trained aquaculturist with an MSc in Aquaculture (Fish Health Management) from the University of Ghent, Belgium. He has extensive experience in marine hatchery development, live feed production, and aquaculture livelihoods development projects.

Before joining KMFRI, he worked as a technical assistant in a project funded by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, focusing on the breeding of local Penaeid shrimp species in Kenya. Through this work, he gained strong expertise in crustacean breeding systems and live feed production including algae, rotifers, and Artemia.

His current research focuses on the application of dietary herbs and single-cell protein technologies to improve the quality and robustness of hatchery-produced crustacean larvae. He is also actively involved in mentoring students and contributing to aquaculture knowledge development through publications and book chapters.
