Dr. C. Magori has served as a Research Scientist at the Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute (KMFRI) for over 26 years. He is a distinguished physical oceanographer specializing in numerical modelling of physical ocean processes, shallow water dynamics, and hydrodynamic circulation.

Dr. Magori is the Global Sea Level Observing System (GLOSS) Regional Coordinator for the Western Indian Ocean region and a member of the GLOSS Group of Experts. He has played a leading role in major regional initiatives including GOOS-AFRICA, ASCLME, shoreline change assessments, and mangrove climate resilience projects funded through WIOMSA's MASMA programme.

He has actively contributed to the development of Kenya's national multi-hazard warning system as part of the Indian Ocean Tsunami Early Warning System (IOTWS), and has participated in strategic environmental impact assessments for major infrastructure projects such as the Port of Mombasa container terminal and Lamu Port.

In addition to research, Dr. Magori has supported curriculum development in oceanography at the Technical University of Mombasa and Pwani University and serves on national and international scientific panels including the Indian Ocean Panel and UNCLOS seabed mining committees.
