Research Focus: Seafloor mapping of Kenya's Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), marine geomorphology, sedimentology, geophysical technologies, GIS applications, and geological resource evaluation.
 

Ms. Amina Makori is a Marine Geologist in the Oceanography and Hydrography Department at KMFRI. Her work focuses on identifying geomorphological features and conducting bathymetric studies through seafloor mapping of Kenya's EEZ, as well as sedimentological studies of marine and estuarine environments. She is proficient in acoustic, geospatial, and remote sensing systems.

Prior to joining KMFRI, she worked in geological research across gold mining, oil and gas exploration, and national petroleum data management. She served as an Oil and Gas Data Manager/Analyst at the National Oil Corporation of Kenya and as a Graduate Geologist with Acacia Gold Mining Company.
