Prof. Francis Kimani Njonge BVM, MSc, PhD, is a distinguished member of the Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute (KMFRI) Board of Management. A highly seasoned academic and veterinary scientist, he serves as the Dean of the School of Natural Resources and Animal Sciences (SONRAS) and Associate Professor in the Department of Animal Sciences at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT). Prof. Njonge holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Parasitology from JKUAT, a Master's degree in Reproductive Physiology from James Cook University (Australia), and a Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Nairobi. His academic foundation is complemented by over three decades of experience as a registered and retained veterinary surgeon with the Kenya Veterinary Board. He has authored and co-authored numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals, contributing significantly to the fields of parasitology, reproductive physiology, and animal sciences. His research and teaching have shaped generations of veterinary and animal science professionals in Kenya and beyond.
