Hon. Hassan Abdi Dukicha, a former Member of Parliament for Galole Constituency, was appointed to the Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute (KMFRI) Board of Management for a three-year term effective 5th January 2021. His appointment was made by the Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Cooperatives, Hon. Peter Munya, and published in the Kenya Gazette on 8th January 2021. Born in Galole, Tana River County, Hon. Dukicha is a self-driven and diligent professional with a strong background in leadership and management. He pursued a Bachelor of Business Management at Mount Kenya University, having earlier studied at the Kenya College of Communication Technology (KCCT) in Mbagathi and the Kenya Institute of Management (KIM) in Nairobi. In 2013, Hon. Dukicha successfully contested the Galole Constituency parliamentary seat, where he distinguished himself as a committed representative of his constituents. During his tenure in the 11th Parliament, he served as a member of the Departmental Committee for Environment and Natural Resources and the Catering and Health Club Committee, where he actively contributed to policy discussions and oversight responsibilities. Before venturing into politics, Hon. Dukicha worked with Telkom Kenya between 1992 and 2004, gaining valuable experience in the communications sector.
