Fisheries Biology
Fisheries Biology explores the interaction among fish populations, the environment, and humans. Rational exploitation and management of fish stocks relies upon detailed insights into and knowledge about their biology to support policy development and ecological conservation. The FWS Directorate undertakes research on a wide range of various aspects of fisheries biology which include: fish diversity and distributions, food and feeding, reproduction and larval development, and life-histories in the inland water bodies Lakes Victoria, Turkana, Naivasha and Baringo) including rivers and dams.
