Alice holds an MSc degree in Biochemistry and a BSc in Biochemistry and Chemistry from the University of Nairobi. She has worked in KMFRI for a period of 6 years since 2012. Alice has worked in the post harvest losses and natural products program with major objective of improving the livelihood of the fisher community especially the fish processors. She has also participated in various projects e.g the LVEMP II on pollution monitoring on fishing grounds and Water Hyacinth Monitoring and Surveillance in Kenyan Waters of Lake Victoria. She visited Japan for short trainings on natural products and fish value addition where she played a major role in the LAVICORD project in Kenya. She has an interest in environmental sciences and molecular biology which she is currently undertaking in L. Naivasha alongside post harvest losses and value addition activities. Alice has participated in several workshops and conferences both in and outside the country.
